No problem! The curriculum is extremely versatile. The units are organized by letter, so whatever format you want to use, we've got you covered.
3. How will I receive the products?
After you complete your purchase, you will be taken to a confirmation page that will give you access to each of the products in your order. It is important that you confirm that you've received the email with your purchase information so check your spam or promotions folder in case the email lands there! You will need this email in the future as you progress through the curriculum.
4. Why are there so many printables? Are they worksheets?
The curriculum printables are specifically designed with two primary goals in mind. First, they are based around the stories, which increases active participation and listening skills while allowing children to form a "bond" with the characters in the stories. Next, they help make teaching the alphabet to your child easy for you, the teacher.
We provide you with a "done-for-you" plan that is based on something that children have been proven to love. Because children love storytime, they will want to repeat it, which allows them to have more "time on task" which further increases their ability to retain, comprehend, and expand upon what they are learning. They are your child's gateway to interacting with the stories, so they are much more than just paper and pencil worksheets. They are games, puzzles, cut out crafts, fun activities, printable booklets and so much more.
5. I'm having trouble printing! What should I do?
Make sure you've downloaded the free version of Adobe Reader and it's updated to the latest version. If you still have problems, try uninstalling Adobe and then reinstalling it. You can also have your documents printed at a local office supply store. Staples and Office Depot allow you to submit print jobs via their websites and then they notify you when your documents are ready for pickup.
6. How do the curriculum addons work?
The curriculum addons are extensions to the curriculum that are also based around the stories. They are less about learning the alphabet and more about providing your child with hours upon hours of story based entertainment. From coloring pages that allow your child to deepen their connection to their favorite characters to draw and write journals where they are guaranteed to create works of art that they'll be proud of, the addons extend the list of storybased activities available in your toolkit.
7. Can I just create my own alphabet lessons with ideas from Pinterest and other places?
Doing this will produce some results, but will also cause you to feel overwhelmed because you won't have a way to easily combine all of the resources that you've gathered into a system. Our curriculum not only saves you countless hours of searching and evaluating lesson ideas, it goes several steps further and creates an actual learning environment that sets the stage for your child to fall in love with reading.
